  • I love, love, Love this car

I purchase the Acura TLX with the technology Package 2.4L at the end of September 2016 and so far I enjoy driving this car. It is so smooth and responsive to the road. I was aware that Acura 2015 version has some issues with the transmission prior to purchase; however, i was told that in the 2016 model those issues where addressed. So far I'm in love with my car and hope that it maintains the Honda/Acura badge of reliability, value, and quality. I test drove other luxury brand of cars and yes they all felt great, especially the BMW3 series; but, the Acura had more features for the price.
  • Cool car! Most features included in the base model

Acura TLX 2015 is a major update and completely replaced TSX and TL. Ive owned it since January 2016. I chose this car because its base model included all desirable features like sun roof, back up camera, driver and passenger side power seats, TPMS and maintenance indicators. The 2.4 liter engine generates enough power to drive around on the highway (35 mpg). The ride in the city is extremely comfortable (25 mpg). One thing all my passengers point out is that the cabin is very quiet. The sound system delivers a crisp sound but may lack some bass. Only cons I can think of are that the dual screens are not really needed unless you have a navigation system. Also, the bluetooth takes about 5 seconds to connect to my iPhone. So if I am on a call and get into the car, there will be 5 seconds of downtime. Overall, its the best luxury car for the price in my opinion.
  • Transmission problems

Lot of the good stuff about the car is apparent, so I'll focus on what's missing in this car to make it a perfect pick for the price - the transmission. On city speed limits, specially when starting from rest between gears 2-3 and 3-4 shift the car jumps forward. It's _slightly_ better when driving on Normal or Sports mode instead of Eco mode, it's _slightly_ better when the car has been running for 10-15 minutes, and it's _slightly_ better when you have more fuel compared to when your tank is less than 1/8th full. At low fuel, the jumpiness is hard to ignore. Often when switching driving modes (Eco/Normal/Sport) while driving, it seems to "forget" how to switch gears smoothly and shifts like a non-expert (non-stick driver) like me would do it if made to drive a stick. If feels one gear lower or higher than it needs to be. Would be great if there is a software/firmware patch which Acura could release to fix this problem.
